Meet The Doctors

Dr. Noel Shaw, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Grant & Swan

Dr. Shaw grew up in suburban Maryland, moving to AZ to study zoology at Arizona State University. After a 30 foot fall while rock climbing, he was introduced to chiropractic to ease his chronic back pain and headaches. Realizing that chiropractic might be a great career choice, Dr. Shaw attended and graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO. After 3 winters in frigid Kansas City, Dr. Shaw decided to return to Arizona to open his practice.

Using a variety of gentle techniques, Dr. Shaw has over 35 years of experience treating a wide variety of patients, from infants to senior citizens to elite athletes. Dr. Shaw has been married for 26 years, with 6 adult children. In his spare time, Dr. Shaw enjoys hiking, house remodeling, beach time, and playing with his 9+ grandchildren and 5 dogs.

Dr. Shane Carnahan, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Grant & Swan

Dr. Shane moved to Tucson to enjoy the sun, biking and cuisine of the area. He is married to his best friend Halli and they have four children. Triplet boys and bonus daughter.

Dr. Shane has been involved in medicine most of his adult life. He has worked as a surgical device representative, ultrasound representative, and pharmaceutical representative before he discovered his true passion of helping others through chiropractic care.

He looks forward to working with you in the near future.

Dr. Alicia Lobash, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Grant & Swan

Dr. Alicia Lobash was born and raised in the suburbs of the Twin Cities, Minnesota. For a long time, especially while her kids were very young, she couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Feeling ready for a new adventure, and to experience winter without snow, Dr. Alicia and her family moved to Tucson AZ in the summer of 2022, after her middle child graduated from High School.

Dr. Lobash first started dreaming of being a chiropractor after she found relief from years of chronic back pain through chiropractic care. Thanks to incredible support and encouragement from her family and friends, Dr. Alicia made that dream a reality, graduating from Northwestern Health Sciences University in November 2015. During Chiropractic school, Dr. Alicia discovered a passion for nutrition, and she took extra nutrition related courses through continuing education.

Dr. Lobash loves to help people find relief from headaches and back pain and help them to get back into the activities they enjoy.

When she's not working at The Joint Chiropractic Rillito Clinic, Dr. Alicia enjoys spending time with her family, going on walks and bike rides, reading, and playing board games.

Dr. Larry Savage, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Grant & Swan

Dr. Savage is a 2002 graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas Texas. He has been a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic in central Tucson since 2002. Dr. Savage also has a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy. Post graduate studies include over 100 hours of continuing education specific to physical fitness and the evaluation and treatment of injuries encountered in sports, over 100 hours of continuing education specific to Applied Kinesiology, and over 150 hours of continuing education specific to Whiplash associated disorders (WAD) that occur after a motor vehicle collision. Prior to his career as a Chiropractor Dr. Savage was a massage therapist. He is a 1994 graduate of The Desert Institute of the Healing Arts with over 1000 hours of therapeutic massage training. Dr. Savage is a student of I Liq Chuan Kung Fu and has achieved instructor status.

Dr. Blake Allen, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Grant & Swan

Dr. Blake Allen joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2023 when he became part of the team at the Bowling Green clinic, where he does the rewarding work of helping people as their local healthcare provider.

“My favorite part about serving the community is that I can help people live pain-free and healthy, all through chiropractic care,” he says. “I love being able to see the changes that it can make in someone's life. When they’re in so much pain that they’re not able to do the things they love, I enjoy seeing them go from having a miserable time to getting out and enjoying life again with their family and friends.”

Dr. Blake, as his patients call him, grew up in Henrietta, Texas. “Those small town values are still ingrained into the person and doctor I am today, including honesty, loyalty, and respect for others,” he says. He previously worked in Evansville, Ky., Indianapolis, and Evansville, Indiana.

His partner, Austin Allen, is a local OB/GYN resident and enjoys traveling and the outdoors just as much as Dr. Blake does. They have a “fur baby” named Maya. Some of Dr. Blake’s favorite outdoor adventures are hiking, kayaking, and disc golf. “I love traveling as much as possible and seeing as many new things as I can.”

He attended University of Arkansas, where anatomy was his favorite subject. After completing a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, Dr. Blake earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic at Logan University in Chesterfield, Mo.

He found his calling after suffering from a chronic shoulder issue from weightlifting for years. “Nothing was helping,” he says. “I interned with a chiropractor during my undergraduate years and it helped change my life by solving the problem with my shoulder. It ended up being an issue stemming from my neck. From then on, I was SOLD.”

One of Dr. Blake’s most memorable experiences as a chiropractor was treating a patient who was having congestive heart failure and kidney failure. “The only symptom being presented to me was low back pain, but after further investigation I found other symptoms and she was rushed to the hospital,” he says. “She called a few weeks later, thanking us for saving her life. It was then that I realized how truly important it is to take a good history of each patient.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Blake always keeps cereal in the house. “Austin would starve if he didn't have it and I too love to indulge from time to time.”

If he could plan the perfect dinner party including four famous guests, Dr. Blake would include Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Aniston, Shania Twain, and Cher. “They all sound like a blast to be around and would be a ton of fun to have over for some wine and dinner.”

One of Dr. Blake’s greatest experiences was the opportunity to travel to Europe while he was in his early 20s. “I was in awe of everything I saw and am in love with European architecture, so getting to go to Rome was amazing,” he says. “It taught me to appreciate the little things in life and never take a day for granted.”

If Dr. Blake penned an autobiography, the title would be He Fought and Won. “Nothing in this life has come easy for me,” he says. “I have had to fight to get where I am today and where I am going in the future. It has never been a bed of roses, but I am winning and will continue to. Life is too short to be held back.”

One of the most meaningful messages Dr. Blake ever received was the phrase his grandmother used at the close of letters she wrote to him: "Take care of yourself. I love you. Grammy."

It’s the same life hack he offers to others: Take care of yourself. “At the end of the day, all we have is ourselves and if you can’t love yourself, how are you going to love and take care of others?”
